Candid Questions For Candid Folk
1. How do I know what kind of digital marketing services I need?
Whether you give us a call or select a digital marketing plan; you will receive a free consultation. During the consultation, all available service packages, plans, and contract durations will be explored. We will take full account of critical business drivers, OKRs, level of flexibility, and budget as well as assessing general industry practices and performing a competitor analysis. This will allow us to put together a comprehensive digital marketing plan that is customized to your specific business needs.
3. How does service agreement termination work?
Service Agreement Termination works the same for all 3 service packages and all 3 contract durations. Contract durations include 3, 6, and 12 months with a 5%, 15%, and 20% discount respectively when billed for the entire contract up front (on a quarterly, semi-annual, or annual basis). Monthly billing is available for all 3 contract durations as an option however, this option does not qualify for any of the discounts. If opting for monthly billing and a request for a Termination of Service Agreement is submitted prematurely, prior to the contract end date; then 50% of the remaining contract duration will be billed in a one-time payment accompanying termination.
5. Why are there not more service packages offered?
At Front Street Digital, we pride ourselves on not pushing cookie cutter packages built on a one size fits all mentality. Many of our competitors offer multiple prebuilt package services for sale to prospective clients and this is often times problematic. This is because every client and every business has unique needs, unique key business drivers, and unique budgets. Many times this method leaves many falling through the cracks. Clients looking for these services may find themselves over paying for services they don’t need or seemingly getting a bargain but not getting all of the services or value needed. This can be confusing and frustrating to clients and believe this to not be in good practice. We offer a base package for those who already know they just want to get set up quickly and on a budget or simply have no need for our other services, as well as our “all-in” package for those who already know they want to commence a full-on digital marketing assault and receive additional savings for bundling. And while some clients will prefer or need these plans, it is the custom plan that is typically suited for most clients. This is because during the free consultation we can better assess the direct needs of the client, building out a customized plan that best positions them for success.
7. Why does the management fee increase when the ad-spend increases?
Candidly speaking, the bigger the campaign, the bigger the time and resource investment needed to manage it properly. This is to help ensure success on more demanding projects and is an industry standard practice. Some of our competitors catering to small businesses try to be cute with their fees by misrepresenting their services. This can be done by attempting to give an illusion of adding value to more expensive packages when they in fact will have the same services provided but what dictated their required more expensive package tier was simply your ad-spend. Another cute game often played can typically come in the form of handicapping your strategy (SEO, PPC, SMM, etc.) by removing one or two crucial steps of the process and upselling you on adding those one or two critical steps back to your plan that was ultimately setup for failure from the beginning. We would rather just be transparent and give you the best possibility of success with the ultimate goal of building long term happy business relationships instead of relying on gimmicks. At Front Street Digital we don’t do cute—we do candid.
2. Are there any hidden fees?
No! You simply pay your contract rate agreed upon and the initial set up fee of $250 for each of the 4 service packages offered (SEO, PPC, eMM, SMM) if applied. Occasionally Front Street Digital will run promotions by waiving all setup fees if 2 or more service packages are bundled together.
4. Do you offer any discounts?
Yes! A 5% discount is included when billed quarterly for the base 3 month contract, with a 15% discount for the 6 month contract (billed semi-annually) and a 20% discount for the 12 month contract (billed annually). We find that longer contracts often produce win-win outcomes. This is because the longer a client is committed, the better the analytics collected are and the more refined and optimized our strategy can be. This leads to a higher success rate with longer contracts for our clients. Also, it’s no secret we at Front Street Digital prefer longer contracts as well for the same reasons any other companies would — more predictable and stable revenue. Making budgeting, forecasting, and resource allocation uncomplicated and simpler to perform. For this win-win outcome, we have created the incentives of the 5%, 15%, and 20% discounts for the 3, 6, and 12 month contracts respectively.
6. How can I be sure the work and results being stated are accurate?
All of the propriety data, including Microsoft Analytics, Google Analytics, and Google Tracking; will remain in the ownership of the Client. While we may be able to present this data more clearly and offer interpretations and insight, ultimately the raw data is in the Clients hands. This transparency makes it impossible for any deception about the campaign results or validity of the strategy to occur by attempting to mislead clients on their results for executed plans. Transparency is one of the core pillars of Front Street Digital and believe it is absolutely necessary for the integrity of the company.
8. What's with the 3, 6, or 12 month contract lengths — why not just offer services month-to-month?
While some of our competitors (typically at the cheapest end of the spectrum) will offer services month-to-month, we believe this typically to be not in good practice. This is because a client may want the flexibility of terminating services just after one or two months if the immediate results are not what they wanted. This is problematic because the first month after launching a campaign is largely dedicated to collecting good clean data from the client and gathering market insights that will inform how the rest of the strategy will be planned and rolled out starting in month two. A client who is not ready to commit to a minimum of at least three months is largely unprepared. Unfortunately, some competitors may choose to still take on these unprepared clients, even if they can sense they may leave prematurely because they can still charge a hefty set-up fee and make a quick buck. This is not the optimal outcome as with this scenario, the client terminated services and left unsatisfied. Working with small businesses in particular, we work with a very diverse clientele especially with regards to experience level — from seasoned professionals to brand new entrepreneurs. It is for these reasons we require a commitment of at least three months while still offering flexibility with providing six and twelve month contracts as well. We incentivize these longer contracts by offering a 15% and 20% discount respectively.
